Hello again, thanks for taking the time to follow along my daily journey! Today marks another measurement day on my PN program. While I’m not heavily focused on the scale, it's still one of the ways I track my progress every couple of weeks. I’m pleased to report I’ve lost over 11 lbs so far. More importantly, my wedding band is looser than it was two weeks ago, which is a small but significant victory.
Active Recovery and Outdoor Activities
After dropping someone off at the airport this morning a 3 hour round trip, I spent some time outdoors for active recovery. My dog supervised as I tackled the persistent dandelions in our lawn. She was so calm and just watched dogs walking by on the sidewalk, a first, as usually she is quite reactive to dogs.
Our soil is quite clay-heavy, which makes the task of pulling out dandelions a bit challenging, but it's still a good workout. Despite staying in the shade, I ended up with a slight sunburn on my shoulders and feet—my first sun exposure of the year. Thankfully, it’s mild and should fade by tomorrow.
Reflective Walks and Family Time
Later in the day, we went for walks, and my husband was feeling well enough that he joined us for a short one after supper. It's always refreshing to have his company and share a peaceful moment together outside. This was our routine every night for longer walks with the dog before his accident last spring and I am thankful on the days he feels strong enough to come. Our dog is doing well with keeping pace with him and like earlier in the day she wasn't reactive to any dogs we saw.
Diving Deeper with Intuitive Eating
I finished reading the Intuitive Eating book today. I have been trying to read a chapter at a time while I take notes as there is a lot of information and references throughout the book. The best part for me, the book was filled with enlightening personal stories and overall the valuable information that aligns well with the PN program. I'm thankful that one of our coaches recommended it. It emphasizes listening to your body’s signals about food and respecting those signals, which isn't about weight loss but about reconnecting with and honoring your body's needs.
Overall, today was a day of tangible progress and reflective learning. As I continue to navigate this journey, I'm reminded of the importance of tuning into my body's needs and the different ways I can measure success, from physical changes to deeper emotional and mental wellness.
