Day 104: Playing the "No Problem" Game and Enjoying Active Recovery

Hi again, thanks for joining my daily journal Today’s lesson introduced a fantastic mindset shift called the "no problem" game. This exercise is designed to help reframe challenges by using positive language, emphasizing the ability to handle whatever comes our way with planning, preparation, and commitment to our PN habits. I took a picture of my breakfast this morning, as I feel it is a good example of a PN friendly meal. Veggie omelet with an orange and a hemp, oat banana muffin and green tea. Veggie omelet, orange hemp/oat banana muffin Changing Perspectives The lesson gave examples like whenever I faced a potential stressor today, I will apply the "no problem" approach. For example, "The in-laws are visiting, which usually stresses me out. No problem, because I'm planning a simple, enjoyable evening that aligns with my PN-friendly meal prep." This mindset not only reduces stress but also reinforces my ability to manage situations proactively. Week...

Day 101: Navigating PN-Friendly Meals in Restaurants and Enhancing Recovery Days

Hello again, thanks for checking in! As I continue my journey with the PN program, today’s lesson focused on maintaining my healthy eating habits even while dining out. Whether I'm on vacation, meeting clients, or just grabbing a bite with friends, my goal remains the same: to make the best food choices possible. Strategic Planning for Eating Out Today's lesson provided strategies for choosing meals when eating at restaurants, emphasizing the importance of planning ahead. I learned about selecting venues that offer healthier options and how to navigate menus to find meals that align with the PN principles.  Choose Health-Conscious Restaurants By opting for places that use fresh, local, and possibly organic ingredients. I am doing my best, when it is my choice, to avoid fast food chains unless absolutely necessary. I am also realistic and that sometimes fast food is the option like yesterday, where I substituted my hash brown for fresh pineapple. Read the Details When reviewing ...

Day 99: Mastering PN-Friendly Meals and Embracing New Challenges

Hi again, everyone! Today's focus continued on mastering the art of crafting PN-friendly meals, a habit that's becoming increasingly integral to my daily routine. This journey, as we've learned, is not about perfection but about making gradual, sustainable changes.  Understanding PN-Friendly Meals Today's lesson deepened our understanding of what makes a meal PN-friendly. It's about starting with simple meals that fit our lifestyle and goals, and then gradually improving them. We discussed how each meal can evolve from basic choices to more nutritionally dense and mindfully enjoyed options, transforming our eating habits step by step. I like how they focus on where are you now, what can you do to improve that just a bit and the examples were spot on in their meal evolutions. Meal Evolution Insights Through a series of meal stages, we explored how our eating habits could change over time. For example, transitioning from a rushed coffee and croissant to a relaxed and ...

Day 98: Embracing PN-Friendly Meals and Celebrating Health Milestones

Hello, everyone! Today marks the introduction of a new habit in our PN program—focusing on PN-friendly meals, which synthesize our learnings about lean proteins, veggies, smart carbs, and fats into a comprehensive approach to eating.  Structured Learning and Balanced Meals The lesson today was split into two levels, and I'm starting at level one, which feels just right for where I'm at currently. We reviewed what constitutes a PN-friendly meal, and I'm happy to report that my typical meals, like omelets with veggies and sprouted grain toast, are on track. After tracking my food over the weekend, I noticed a balanced 1:1:1:1 ratio when I look at the total day, though there's always room for improvement for each meal and yesterday I only had 4 servings of veggies.  The shared examples of meals and a simple chili recipe, which I'm excited to try out instead of buying ready-made from the deli but I need to tweak it a bit with black beans instead of kidney beans. My focu...
