Welcome back to my daily journal for holistic harmony!
Morning Meditation and Walk: A Refreshing Start
Today kicked off with a serene meditation session followed by a delightful walk, marking another fulfilling day in the Precision Nutrition for Women program. The ease and simplicity of these exercises are exactly what I need, ensuring I stay consistent and motivated. I am sure the ability to check off yes, I read the lesson, yes I did my workout, yes, yes, yes has a lot to do with the success of the structure that they have developed.
Meditation: The Game-Changer in Holistic Health & Weight Management.
This morning's walk was particularly special as I took my dog along to the lake. Instead of our usual route, we explored the scenic paths woven through trees and beautifully designed seating areas, focusing on improving leash manners. Unfortunately her training has been interrupted a few times. We started when she was a puppy on an 8 week course once she had her vaccines and then halfway through my gallbladder was unexpectedly removed. She's a big dog, a rottweiler, so while I was recovering it basically meant starting over with another class. She graduated without issue. Things were great until last spring when unexpectedly I had to be away helping my husband for months and wasn't able to do our structured training walks each day. We basically have started again, she's doing well, most of the time, but can be reactive.
It was a peaceful start to the day, reinforcing the joy of integrating gentle, manageable workouts into my routine.
Reflecting Through Poetry: A Lesson in Growth
Our program today included a poignant poem, "Autobiography in Five Short Chapters" by Portia Nelson, which resonated deeply with me. The poem's journey from falling into the same pitfalls to finally choosing a different path mirrors my own experiences with exercise in the past. It's a powerful reminder of the importance of recognizing and learning from our patterns, and I'm grateful for these insightful additions to our lessons.
Autobiography in Five Short Chapters
I.
I walk down the street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I fall in. I am lost. I am helpless.
It isn't my fault.
It takes forever to find a way out.
II.
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I still don't see it. I fall in again.
I can't believe I am in the same place.
It isn't my fault.
It still takes a long time to get out.
III.
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I see it there, I still fall in.
It's habit. It's my fault. I know where I am.
I get out immediately.
IV.
I walk down the same street.
There is a deep hole in the sidewalk.
I walk around it.
V.
I walk down a different street.

Building Community Our New Facebook Group
An exciting development today was the invitation to join our program's private Facebook group. While I'm not a frequent Facebook user, the prospect of connecting with fellow participants in a more communal space is intriguing. I'm hopeful that this platform will add another layer of support and camaraderie, similar to the vibe of our live calls.
Weekly Recap and Culinary Inspiration
The weekly recap from our coaches is something I always look forward to. It's a heartening summary of our achievements, coupled with practical advice and encouragement. This week, they shared a recipe for crispy baked sweet potato fries, which I've bookmarked for future reference. Although I'm not a fan of sweet potatoes as they were not part of my family meals growing up and I find them very sweet vs regular potatoes, I'm open to exploring and possibly developing a taste for healthier alternatives.

Upcoming Focus: The Art of Eating Slowly
Looking ahead, our next habit to cultivate is eating slowly. Despite its simplicity, I anticipate this will be a challenging adjustment for me. Being the quickest eater in my family often leads to overeating and the discomfort that follows. I'm eager to tackle this habit, confident that the upcoming weeks will be filled with valuable strategies to help me and my fellow participants make lasting changes.
As I reflect on today's journey, I'm filled with gratitude for the holistic approach of the Precision Nutrition program. It's not just about nutrition or exercise; it's about understanding ourselves, our habits, and how we can evolve towards a healthier, more balanced life.
