The journey to a healthier me with Precision Nutrition is officially underway, and it's off to an exciting start! Just a day after completing the detailed questionnaire, I received a warm and informative email from my two coaches, marking the beginning of what promises to be a transformative experience. I like that they both have different backgrounds and experiences as it sounds like they will balance each other out while supporting our group.
A Personal Touch from Coaches
The email from my coaches was not only welcoming but also packed with valuable information. They offered specific tips, like starting with level one habits when the program kicks off on January 22nd. I didn't even know there was more than one level of options in the program. Their personal bios were included, giving me a sense of who will be guiding me through this journey.
Important Dates and Resources
They also provided details on how to sync my calendar with key dates and live sessions. I appreciate that they made this recommendation as I work from home so all of my consultations go into my calendar and this ensure that I will be able to make most of the live sessions for the program.
The revelation that the Facebook group would open in February was a pleasant surprise, offering another layer of support and community. Personally, I don't use Facebook. I do use it professionally so I know that having a dedicated group for a program like this can be helpful for sharing tips, program highlights and recipes.
Initial Equipment Recommendations
Included in the PN program introduction email was a link for more information and it had suggestions for exercise equipment to start with. They recommended circular exercise bands, a door anchor for those bands, and specific free weights.
Fortunately, I have a Bowflex Revolution weight machine, which I plan to utilize at some point in the program. I also have a treadmill, pull up frame, yoga mats, yoga blocks, yoga ball, weighted balls and recumbent bike here. However, I didn't have a door anchor or circular exercise bands, so I quickly ordered them in preparation for the program's start.
I, like many people, already have a digital scale so I didn't need to buy a new one. I did have to buy new batteries though.
Investing in My Journey
To fully commit to this journey, I treated myself to two new exercise outfits and a smart tape measure. These aren't just for comfort and tracking; they're symbols of my commitment. I purchased sizes XL and L, as they were on clearance and perfectly fit my current and anticipated future sizes. Inspired by the journey ahead, I'm even considering buying a medium size – envisioning the future me. The color-blocked tops and bottoms in dragonfly and redwood from Eddie Bauer are not only functional but also a reflection of my personal style.
Beyond the Scale
This preparation goes beyond just getting ready for a fitness program. It's about embracing a holistic approach to tracking progress. I'm aware that weight loss isn't uniform across the body, so having different sizes of the same outfit will help me visualize and understand the changes in various areas. It's not just about the numbers on the scale; it's about the overall transformation.
Getting Closer Now
The initial engagement with my Precision Nutrition coaches and the steps I've taken to prepare for the program have filled me with anticipation and motivation. This is more than a fitness journey; it's a commitment to a healthier, happier me. I'm ready to embrace the changes, challenges, and triumphs that lie ahead.
