Hi everyone! Today, I decided to take a new approach to tracking my food by using photo tracking. This method seems more practical and engaging for me, allowing me to capture my meals before and after eating (if there's any food leftover). This also helps me align my meals with the PN plates and use the hand portion tracking sheet to see if they match up.
Photo Tracking for Better Recall
Today's lesson reiterated how unreliable our memory can be when recalling past meals, which is why writing things down—or in my case, taking photos—is essential. This practice enhances self-awareness and puts me in control of my eating decisions. I am interested to see where this tracking for two weeks leads as I presume at some point we will be studying them. I am also taking photos of when I haven't finished my meals (if that is the case) as well as I am really trying to get a hang of when I am getting close to being satisfied and not stuffed full.

Active Recovery Day
Today was an active recovery day, and I focused on walking my dog. However, I felt a bit tired because my dog woke me up in the middle of the night. Once I'm up and moving around, it takes a while for me to fall back asleep. Despite the tiredness, the walks were a gentle way to keep moving and enjoy the day. I still feel like walking the dog is a bit of a cheat as it isn't really optional but I'll take it.
Reflecting on the New Habit
Starting this new habit of food tracking with photos has already made me more mindful of my portions and the quality of my meals. It's a simple yet effective way to gather data without overcomplicating the process. I'm looking forward to reviewing the photos and seeing how well my meals align with the PN guidelines.

Moving Forward
For now, my focus remains on collecting data without judgment or analysis. This practice will continue for two weeks, after which I'll evaluate the information to make informed adjustments to my eating habits. By staying honest and detailed with my records, I aim to gain deeper insights into my dietary patterns and continue progressing on my PN journey.
